According to reports, Major League Baseball is also looking into the conflict. “You did, indeed. Rendon, who was still holding the fan’s T-shirt, uttered, “Yes, m—f—.”
After releasing the man’s clothing, Rendon made an apparent attempt to strike or kick him in the head before turning and leaving. Lendon’s hand had to be backed away from by the fan.
A video of the altercation that went viral and has more than 9 million views as of Saturday was posted by The Athletic’s MLB-only Twitter account. One observer of the video noted on the Twitter thread, “Swing and misses look quite on-brand here,” maybe referring to Rendon, who went 0-for-3 twice on Thursday.
The Angels reportedly declined to comment on the situation but claimed Rendon will be made clear before Saturday’s game in Oakland against the A’s.
