The devastating news of my dear buddy Billy Oatman’s passing came to me today. Our connection began during our time as members of the Midwest Junior Bowlers Tour in high school. We afterwards carried on studying together from 1983 to 1985 at Vincennes University. Billy was a superb bowler, but what made him stand out was his constant smile, which he kept flashing despite the difficulties of life. I hold my friendship and its memories in the highest regard. William Howard Oatman IV was a skilled left-handed ten-pin bowler who was born on December 1, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) in 2006 and competed professionally as a member. When Billy finished 11th in the 2006 PBA Tour Trials, his excellent abilities enabled him to earn his first PBA Tour exemption. In the 2006–2007 PBA season, he was rated 37th, and during PBA competitions, he bowled four 300 game perfect games. Billy Oatman has bowled over 190 300 games and over 70 800 sets during the course of his career.
