A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Douglas County doctor accused of speeding on Dodge Street and then killing a South Dakota student. Mark Carlson, 61, is wanted on a charge of manslaughter. According to court documents, Carlson was traveling at 106 mph with his foot fully on the pedal, struck a light pole, and then crossed three lanes at 101 mph. He then struck a Chevy Cruze driven by 22-year-old Anna Bosma.
Bosma died at the scene of the accident. Paramedics took her boyfriend, William Story, a passenger in the car, to the hospital. A profile of Carlson at the University of Nebraska Medical Center says he is a professor in the Department of Surgery and director of the Center for Advanced Surgical Technology.

He is also a staff physician for the Veterans Administration.
Carlson was spotted on surveillance video recording the crash, according to court documents. He hit a light pole, crossed three lanes of traffic and hit a car head-on, according to investigators.
Investigators said Carlson’s Mercedes was traveling at 101 mph when he hit the pedal shortly before colliding with the car. Carlson is a surgeon and professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center School of Medicine.
