Fireboy DML, a Nigerian singer-songwriter who was born Adedamola Adefolahan, blends Afropop, R&B, and soul in his work. Fireboy DML, who has been dubbed the “future” of Afrobeats, made his music debut in early 2019 with Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps. A run of the standout hits from the critically praised album, including “Jealous,” “Scatter,” and “King,” attracted the attention of music lovers around the world and expertly combined the performers’ lyrical skill, vocal range, and delivery.

Fireboy DML’s award-winning second studio album Apollo, which he released in August 2020, debuted in the US iTunes Top 10 during its first week and received over 320M streams. His second album, APOLLO, which featured appearances from Nigerian singer Wande Coal and American rapper D Smoke, peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard World Albums chart. His third album would be coming, he said in the smash song “Peru,” which he released in July 2021.
