A male teen of 17 has reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Amagoro Courts in the Eastern Division of Tororo District, according to sources.
A casual worker named George Othieno has reportedly been discovered dead in what appears to be a suicide. The incident’s exact time is yet unknown.
Moses Mugwe, the spokesman for the Bukedi South Regional Police, acknowledged the occurrence and stated that inquiries into it had begun.
The deceased’s maternal grandfather, Difas Napakori, age 67, forced the door to open on May 17, 2023, at around 3:50 PM in Amagoro Courts in the Tororo District. He then took a polythene bag used to load cassava from the deceased’s room.
When he entered the house, he discovered one Othieno hanging on a shirt in his room since the door was closed and supported by a stone from the inside.
Detectives, according to Mr. Mugwe, went to the location and took testimonies from various witnesses to help with the investigation. Even though they lived in different homes, the deceased was raised by his grandfather.
The body was taken to the mortuary of the main hospital in Tororo for an autopsy.
A local woman named Ms. Justine Awori requested that the police look into the area’s rising suicide rate.
According to recent reports, 14-year-old Michael Ochola allegedly committed suicide in Pulenge Cell, Pajwenda Town Council, which is located in Tororo District.
