Josh Seiter, a “Bachelorette” contestant who was open and honest about his mental health problems, has died.
On Monday, the Seth family issued a statement in which they said: “It is with deep sorrow that we relay the awful news of Joshua’s unexpected passing. Joshua was an incredibly bright light in a dark world, as anyone who knew him can attest.
“His fearless voice and indomitable spirit have made thousands of people feel less alone in their most difficult times,” they concluded. While we are deeply saddened by Joshua’s passing, we also know that he has at last found We find solace in knowing we are secure.
Joshua’s death’s cause was not mentioned in the statement, but a phone number was given for anyone experiencing a mental health emergency.
Josh, who frequently discusses his mental health problems in his postings, recently shared a picture of himself grinning and the statement, “Overcoming depression and anxiety with a smile every day.”
He has been quite upfront and honest about his troubles over the years, once saying on social media: “I am Josh Setter, a suicide attempt survivor. OCD, bipolar disorder, and generalised anxiety have all been challenges for me. Despite my struggles with the illness, I persisted. What allowed you to live?
On Kaitlyn Bristowe’s 2015 season of The Bachelorette, Josh made an appearance and left after the first week.
