Two people have been arrested as a result of the heavy police presence that was present at North Park Mall on Thursday afternoon.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the incident.
According to the police, at the intersection of 65th Street and Welcome Way at 3 p.m., authorities in Davenport saw a stolen car inhabited by wanted individuals.
The car had been reported stolen in Illinois’s Joliet. The police started a pursuit as soon as they knew the car was stolen.

The pursuit came to an end at the JC Penny entrance in North Park Mall when the suspects made an attempt to elude the police but were quickly caught.
Kalin Hawkins, a 27-year-old man, was found driving the stolen car. He is now being charged with felony eluding, first-degree theft, carrying firearms, second offense eluding, driving while intoxicated, and two counts of interfering with official activities.
Hawkins also had a warrant out of Rock Island County for failure to appear in relation to accusations of making and delivering cocaine. The DPD released a press statement with these details in it.
The other person in the stolen car was 23-year-old Juwan Crawford, who was also detained by police. Crawford is accused with first-degree theft, interference with governmental acts, and possession of a handgun by a felon.

In addition, he was wanted for aggravated fleeing and evading in Rock Island County.
The inquiry is still ongoing, according to the police, and nothing more is known at this time.
