Woman Pressurized Ex to Commit Suicide by Dark Messages
Prosecutors claim that a Pennsylvania woman sent “despicable and graphic” communications to her ex-boyfriend encouraging him to commit suicide first before taking his own life.
According to Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Chicarelli, Mandie Reusch, 35, was charged with aided suicide and harassment on Tuesday. Unsettling information concerning the purportedly last-minute messages Reusch reportedly sent to Kevin Metzger, 37, is included in the criminal complaint that state police have filed.
Mr. Metzger might still be alive today if this information hadn’t influenced and encouraged him to commit suicide, according to a statement from Ciccarelli. It was only after the victim committed suicide that it ceased.
Reusch and Metzger allegedly have a daughter, according to the complaint, Penn Live said. When Roisch allegedly texted Metzger in May 2021 to inform him that she was moving in with another man and that he would not see their children again, Metzger was supposedly completing military training. Reusch was told, “I hope you actually kill yourself for the sake of the child.” It would be preferable if she had never heard of you.
In a later letter, she promised to have sex with her new lover on Mother’s Day “while your daughter calls him Daddy,” according to the police. Reusch apparently complained about the meager amount Metzger sent her when he sent her $200 and emailed him a video of her having sex with another man, alleging that she had destroyed the stuff Metzger had left behind in the residence.
Metzger complained to the Irwin Police Department, and Reusch received a warning to stop messaging him. She was charged with harassment on June 3, 2021, but the charges were dismissed after Metzger passed away 15 days later.
Investigators found a letter and Facebook posts outlining claimed secret messages Roisch wrote to Metzger after he passed away in his residence. According to reports, a 2020 message said, “Go commit suicide. You don’t really [insert expletive] people.” The memo apparently also made mention of a supposedly valid $250,000 insurance policy.
A friend of Metzger’s reported him missing two days before Father’s Day in June 2021 and asked authorities to check on his welfare. State police discovered his body at that point. Reusch allegedly told Metzger several times that she would not allow her daughter to see him on Father’s Day.
Authorities claim that Butcher Reusch told another acquaintance he was posting about his friend online and urging them to “make sure the whole world knows about it” on the day his friend applied for the benefit check.
Metzger reportedly served in the Army for nearly 20 years before returning to the Army Reserve after receiving an honorable discharge. He was described as “passionate about caring for his daughter” in the obituary. “She was a bright spot in his life,” it read. “He was a devoted father.”
According to court records available online, Reusch was arraigned on Tuesday but failed to post his $150,000 bond. On June 27, she was brought to the Westmoreland County Jail for a preliminary hearing.
We are sorry for the Metzger family’s loss and share their sorrow over his passing, Ziccarelli stated. We won’t tolerate or allow such reprehensible behavior.
