The family shared this statement on Twitter on Saturday night: “It is with great grief and heartbreak that we announce the passing of our dear father Red Robinson at 8:15 this morning after a brief illness. The fact that his brother Bill was present made it much more meaningful, according to Kay Kellie and Kellie Robinson, who were thrilled to share his final moments with him.

“Most people are familiar with our dad as a rock DJ, TV personality, owner of an advertising firm, voice actor, or for his charitable activities. He was extraordinary in many ways, but to us, he was a loving husband to our late mother Carol, a loving father, and a loving friend to everyone.
“Ryder’s passing leaves a tremendous void in our lives and in the lives of everyone he touched in radio, television, music, and entertainment,” says one person.
In the words of one of his favorite Elvis Presley songs, If I Could Dream, his family said: “We couldn’t think of a better way to sum up Dad’s life than with those words: “In the dark there’s a candle waving……and when I can do it and think.”

I can dream, so please make them come true right away.
Red ended his 64-year broadcasting career in 2017.
