The victim of a New Jersey Transit train in Essex County earlier this week was named by authorities as a 22-year-old Millburn man on Friday.
At 12:19 PM, Timur Murtazin was struck. According to transit officials, the location is close to the eastern end of the platform of the Short Hills train station in Milburn, New Jersey.
That morning at 11:36, Train 417 departed from Hoboken and was scheduled to arrive in Gladstone at 13:16. There were 20, according to NJ Transit.
While the New Jersey State Police looked into the incident, trains in the region experienced delays. The man who was struck by a train close to the platform at Short Hills Station has been identified by NJ Transit. Timur Murtazin, age 22, is from Millburn.
The 20 passengers on board the train were all unharmed. TA Pinto expresses his sympathy to his family and close friends.
