Gannon Stauch, 11, was reported missing in 2020, and his stepmother’s half-brother spotted her hauling a large suitcase while assisting her in moving out of their Colorado home, he testified Tuesday.
Prosecutors claim Dakota Lowry had no idea the body of the missing youngster was in that luggage at the time.
Lowry took the stand in court on Tuesday to speak on behalf of his half-sister Letitia Storch, who overcame the emotional weight of the child’s murder to stand trial for the murder of her stepson.
According to the Gazette, he yelled at his half-sister, “Why Ticia?” through tears.
Prosecutors said Letcia stabbed Gannon 18 times before shooting him in the bedroom of the Colorado home where they lived with his father, her then-husband Alstoch. farmers, on Jan. 27, 2020.
According to earlier arrest affidavits seen by PEOPLE, Letecia reported Gannon missing on Jan. 27, the same day prosecutors claimed she killed the youngster. Gannon’s body was discovered in a green suitcase in Florida on March 17, 2020, and Leticia was charged with first-degree murder.
According to the Denver Post, Leticia has pled not guilty to insanity.

Lowry spoke up on Tuesday about how he and his mother, Letcia, helped move their stuff out of their Colorado home in the days after Gannon went missing, according to The Gazette.
Lowery stated on February 1, 2020, that he was assisting Letecia in transporting her items into the economy vehicle Letecia rented when he observed she was having difficulty carrying a suitcase.
According to 9News, he stated that the tattered green luggage “felt wrong” and appeared to be substantially heavier than the others.
He offered to assist her in moving it, but she declined, claiming it was too heavy because it was filled with “softball stuff,” according to 9News.
He also testified that he did not recall seeing the luggage when they assisted her in moving out of the house on January 30, 2020, according to the Gazette.
An Avis Car Rental employee testified that Letecia drove through Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama between February 2 and February 5, 2020, according to The Gazette. Maryland and Florida were followed by a return to the van at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
